As a key member of the ABB Electrification Performance & Reward team, drive the development of the ABB Electrification ASR, AIP, Grading & Reporting and systems (workday), together with the ABB Electrification business, and align all related topics with the strategic business objectives within corporate guardrails. This role will also be in charge for relevant business-related M&A projects within area of responsibility.

Your responsibilities

  • Facilitating the global ABB Electrification annual salary budgeting and annual salary review (ASR) process in liaison with HR Business Partners, ABB Electrification Finance, employee relations and the other ABB business areas. Coordinating metrics, of how budget should be assessed for final approval, drive GBS to establish effective salary review tool globally and collaborate with Finance for cost control and local budgeting process. Set up an EL governance to track budget spent, together with GBS, ensure quality reporting with the support of GBS and the correct link to Personal Expenses (PEX).
  • Supporting the ABB pay band process, together with GBS, with external benchmarking and guidelines and ensure that they are adhered to within ABB Electrification.
  • Facilitating the design and the implementation of the EL annual short-term incentive (AIP) strategy for both Executive and non-Executive employees for the Divisions including, but not limited to, identifying KPIs and linking targets to the ABB Electrification strategy, taking into consideration Business-specific nuances to develop an appropriate AIP plan that will drive Business performance together with Division Heads to ensure expected business impact to drive right behaviors to execute business strategy.
  • Optimizing process of AIP assignments, together with GBS, so that every employee has the correct bonus plan assigned, linked to correct target bonus data in HRGT.
  • Managing the proper implementation of the individual targets as part of AIP to ensure that the EL KPIs matrix is implemented and understood by all employees. Responsible for the yearly maintenance of the EL KPIs matrix, so that every job has a set of standardized KPIs.
  • Driving performance management process together with Corporate, run regular PDA reporting to ensure that EL KPIs matrix is properly implemented in individual targets and develop initiatives to improve performance culture.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate monthly reporting of compensation information for business and planning requirements and drive data cleanliness together with GBS.
  • Providing Electrification inputs to the yearly review of the ABB job catalogue in collaboration with GBS, HR Business Partners and HR Operations and ensure “book of jobs” includes new grading blueprints that can be used across ABB.
  • Supporting all necessary Workday implementation requirements for own area of responsibility in close collaboration with Group. Ensure automation to the fullest extent possible, including assessing alternative grading solutions.
  • Overseeing relationships with external vendors of compensation & reward services as necessary and drive quality and supplier service for area of responsibility.
  • Acting as a consultant to HR business partners and line managers for daily questions.
  • Partner with Global Shared Services (GBS) to facilitate the implementation of the policies and processes in line with the governance standards incl. data cleaning.
  • Working collaboratively with the other members of the Performance & Reward community including corporate and GBS to contribute to a holistic reward strategy for ABB Electrification.

Your background

  • A seasoned manager with a University degree and at least 10-12 years of experience in compensation, in a global role, with specific experience in ASR, AIP, grading and IT systems for global organizations of similar complexity to ABB Electrification.
  • Workday HCM and Compensation certification preferred or related HR business experience.
  • Process improvement mindset, outside-the-box thinking to deliver innovate and create results. Strong customer focus.
  • Excellent analytical skills, business acumen and ability to link business imperatives to impact on compensation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiations skills and ability to Persuade other internal and occasionally external parties to accept complete proposals and programs where there may be little interest in cooperating or participating.
  • Seasoned project management skills for planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion with interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously.
  • Strong experience of working and delivering compensation processes through a shared services model.
  • Ability to effectively operate in a matrix organization and expertise in the use of complex influence strategies across divisions, functions and jurisdictions on a global basis.
  • Experience of working at both a strategic and operational level in a global organization.
