About the role

The Head of Site Quality defines the Quality vision for the site (in line with the divisional and Group Quality strategies and BT’s Quality Policy) and translates this compelling site Quality action plan.
This person builds a strong team, with people of the right skills and ensures that all Quality processes are implemented and followed rigorously. Has management responsibilities (budget, people development …) and ensures, together with the QMS function, that site certifications are managed properly.
The Head of Quality always ensures that the basics are in place (quality processes, tools, and people) and continuously drives to improve. He/She creates an atmosphere in the true sense of a quality culture which he/she drives in all functions of the site.
This person is always positive with a drive to improve, communicative and convincing. Has a strong quality mindset.

Your Tasks:

  • Management of a team of resources: teams are typically PQA core team members and production quality operators, technicians or administrators (including Metrology specialists, incoming goods inspectors, NC’s administrators, NDT specialists) but may include professional staff where specific certifications are required. Responsibility includes also the Quality budget evaluations in RS bids;
  • Define the plan for Built-in Quality (BiQ) maturity growth and ensures everything is in place so that products leave BT in a perfect Quality condition, Right first time;
  • Drive and support the successful roll out within the site RS organization, implementation, stabilization and improvement of the latest BT processes relevant to Quality, assuring at the same time adequate coordination with the SER Quality responsible for Italy
  • Represent BT Italy within the National Quality organization (AICQ), be active partner within the National Standardization Committee (UNI), and represent the company interface to customer Quality organization and partners
  • Coordinate the employee skill certifications for welding, NDT, railway vehicle maintenance (according to Safety Authority rules).



  • Engineering Master Degree;
  • 5 years experience in Quality dept of a company working on projects; at least 3 years in a similar position. Experience in a railway Industry would be considered a plus;
  • Able to facilitate an FMEA (systems, Design, Process);
  • Experience in Quality function (PQA, OQA, IMS and optionally SQA and DQA);
  • Forward processes, quality gates, problem solving methods (8D, etc.);
  • Experience in Project auditing;
  • Italian native, fluent in English;
