The position is responsbile for development and implementation of global standards, best practices and for driving Continuos Improvement in the warehouses, using lean methodologies to drive the change.

What does the role involve?

The position will be responsible for identifying, developing, implementing and driving continous process improvements projects throughout warehousing operations including:


  • Support development, implementation and training of lean in warehouse on all levels.
  • Scope, lead, and complete lean projects and other continuous improvement projects directed at improving quality, safety, productivity, waste and/or reducing process variation.
  • Ensure sustainability of gains and build a continuous improvement culture.
  • Determine true root cause of customer shipment issues and internal process failures across warehouse environment and create and implement preventive actions jointly with local warehouse team.
  • Improve the understanding of the voice of the customer and transfer knowledge to team members to provide better understanding and alignment to minimize duplication of effort or non-value added improvement projects.
  • Development, implementation and training of lean in the Region Logostics Europe South East

Process Excellence:

  • First point of contact for all process related changes affecting warehouse environment.
  • Improve experience and best-practice exchange across functional silos. Create Tools and tracking that support end to end thinking by functional leaders
  • Challenge existing processes and agreements (timing of system jobs, cut-off-times, packaging rules, etc…).
  • Development of associated business cases in identifying key improvement opportunities that are aligned with business priorities, design KPI's and set-up measurement systems, collect data, complete data and process analysis.
  • Partner with warehouse manager, team leads and peers to assist in continuous improvement process identification and selection.

Project Management:

  • Design a Roadmap for project implementation together with warehouse manager and teach continuous improvement tools to team members and leadership team.
  • Drive and manage reporting for the warehouse operations in line with goals and objectives.
  • Driving standardization of processes by utilizing global known tools such as BPM and PDCA.

What you need is:

  • Excellent people skills – easy to talk to / work with
  • Experience in project management principles and methodologies.
  • Solid critical thinking, analytical, and structured problem solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S’s, Visual Management, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, or similar.
  • Good presentation skills to effectively share ideas
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Very strong organizational skills; ability to set priorities, maintain multiple initiatives and remain organized.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills - English required
  • Ability to influence others and lead others to positive outcome
  • Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to work cooperatively with, and manage diverse teams.
  • Computer proficiency, including the Microsoft Office, SAP.
